You Are the Light
One day a friend who can not see at once is smart to argue coming to a Master. He asked for a light. The origin of light can he feel, touch, smell it, he will believe that the light exists. At the end of his request, the blind man grunted angrily: "most people accuse me of blind light when they are the ones who lie about the light".
Blinding Knowledge
In different levels and shapes, humans are mostly like the blind above. Suspect life is just as wide as the eye sees, just as far as what can be thought, just as narrow as feeling. And the dangers, with limited insight, then attack and judge people.
In such a state, knowledge is not a source of light, instead, it becomes the source of darkness. If Descartes's philosopher wrote "I think then I am", these kinds of people if not guided can either fall into a dangerous abyss in the form of "I think then I attack". In the hands of men like this, knowledge becomes a very injurious weapon.
That is why Socrates' followers developed the Socratic dialogue. A form of knowledge exchange is done in a very polite way, it begins with the intention of sharing light, he is far from hostile and attacking each other. The Socratic Dialogue is done following the laws of nature, the ears are two, the mouth is one. That is, a person learns to hear twice as much as speaking. In this way, knowledge is no longer blinding.
Illuminating Knowledge
Going back to the story of the blind at the beginning of a story calling someone else a lie about light, this Master was treated very well and subtly. Calmly Master muttered: "Today is not a good time to argue. But I have a close friend as well as an ophthalmologist. Please go there, after that there is a good time for dialogue. "
Sometime later, after this blind man could see, he ran kissing Teacher's feet with great respect, then whispered he murmured: "the light is there". In the hands of a wise Master, knowledge away from the judgmental darkness, knowledge becomes a very illuminating light. And the illuminating knowledge begins with the question of who it is. With knowledge of self, then one can step in accordance with the natural call of each.
The situation is similar to entering the old forest of life. If you are a fisherman, look for the lake where you are fishing. If you are a carpenter, look for a dry tree to cut. Without knowledge of self, most people will get lost in the old forest of life. That is why, before having a dialogue with the blind man above, Master sends the blind man to an ophthalmologist.
You Are the Light
Guided by knowledge of self, then someone will be easier to move. He is as simple as a driver who enjoys once his work steering a car, a cook that integrates with his daily cooking. That is why a Zen Guru explains meditation in a simple but very profound way: "meditation is eating when hungry, drinking when thirsty".
Simply put, whatever everyday remember to always be together with the present. In messages that are often expressed in meditation classes: "accept, flow, smile". With this experience of unity, you are light. Similar to the electric light that synthesizes both positive and negative, in this meditative approach all forms of contemporary experience are synthesized. And do not be surprised if then you can see the light, do not be surprised if your knowledge is so glowing.
In the ranks of the Guru who has met light, blending light, emitting light, there is often a message like this: "if ordinary people like to see the light, wise Master likes to emit light". And among so many emitted lights, goodness is the most often emitted. And every soul that often emits light, one day can understand life is a dance of light.
